Newsflash: Bartender extraordinaire Eddie "Lucky" Campbell will debut his long-awaited new bar tonight after a year in the making. Parliament is located in the cozy State Thomas space formerly known as Four Lounge; Campbell took over the space after proprietor and mixologist Keith LaBonte unexpectedly passed away in late 2012.
Cocktail fiends who lamented the demise of The Chesterfield will surely be excited to check out Campbell's new venture; the downtown drinking den had a brief heyday under Lucky but quickly went downhill after he departed following a dispute with partner Ed Bailey of the now-defunct Bailey's Prime Plus empire. No menu for Parliament has surfaced just yet, but per the bar's Facebook page, folks can expect plenty of classic cocktails including "the best Ramos Gin Fizz in town," "an extensive ice program," stirred whiskey cocktails and plenty of absinthe.
