BEER WIRE—Fort Worth's Martin House Brewing has teamed up with the Turtle Survival Alliance to create a new blackberry altbier they're calling, appropriately enough, Turtle Power. It's launching the first weekend in October with a series of events that will include glassware giveaways and, yes, "meet and greets with live turtles." [MHB]

DOWNTOWN—The Dallas Farmers Market has launched a new weekly "Market After Dark": Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m. they'll open up The Shed and have live music, beer and wine and food trucks. [EaterWire]

WEST 7TH—Fans of sweet-salty combos will take interest in AF+B's newest dessert: an apple crisp with white cheddar streusel, maple ice cream and of course, bacon. Thank you notes should be addressed to pastry chef Laurel Wimberg. [AF+B/Facebook]
