Another promising cocktail bar is on the way: Long-awaited Midnight Rambler will open for business daily beginning next Friday, October 3 at downtown's swanky Joule Hotel, in the subterranean space that was once occupied by PM Lounge. (The bar was originally slated to be called Mirth & Refuge, but thankfully that questionable moniker was scrapped.)

The cocktail menu will be the brainchild of Chad Solomon and Christy Pope of beverage consulting group Cuffs & Buttons, who were also responsible for setting up the cocktail program at neighboring CBD Provisions; L.A. export TenOverSix lent their design skills, while CBD chef Michael Sindoni put together a small menu of bar bites.

Here's a peek at a few of the drinks that will be on the menu at Midnight Rambler, including a very unusual-sounding, pho-influenced shot that contains "aromatized beef stock" and cilantro.

Perfect Prescription: Rye, cognac, French dry vermouth, Italian vermouth, black Jamaican rum, orange & Peychaud bitters, lemon zest

Blind Lemon Sour: TX blue corn whiskey, lemon, Mineral Wells mineral syrup, egg white, TX cedar & grapefruit aromatic essence

Romancing the Stone: Apricot eau de vie, lemon, acacia honey, Valerian essence, sparkling wine

Pho King Champ (shot): Wheat vodka, Oloroso sherry, aromatized beef stock, cilantro leaf

Hogo A-Go-Go: Jamaica rum, lime, West Indian bay leaf falernum, hibiscus, nutmeg
