PRESTON HOLLOW—John Tesar's sixth annual Burgers & Burgundy event will take place Friday, October 3 at the home of Bill and Karen Seanor. The chef lineup includes no shortage of notable locals including Tesar, Kent Rathbun, Brian Zenner, Tre Wilcox, and more. Per a press release, "Each chef has been tasked with the challenge to serve up the best burger sliders and complement them with the burgundy of their choice." Tickets start at $100; the event benefits the Dallas chapter of DIFFA (Design Industry Foundation Fighting AIDS). [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN—Chefs for Farmers will host the first annual Oyster Bash on Sunday, October 26 from 2-6 p.m. at the Dallas Farmers Market. Expect both raw and cooked oysters from Texas and both coasts shucked on site, cocktails, wine, an oyster slurp-off, a tarot card reader, a DJ and more; the talent lineup will include Matt McCallister, Jack Perkins, Jon Alexis, John Tesar, Jon Stevens, Kyle McClelland, Stephen Rogers and Houston's Randy Rucker. Tickets are $85 including food, drinks, tax and gratuity.
