FT33 Has a New Chef de Cuisine, Jason Ferraro

New blood in the kitchen at Matt McCallister's Design District darling FT33: Jason Ferraro, formerly of Hibiscus (and before that, The Porch) has joined the team as chef de cuisine.

Ferraro served alongside Graham Dodds as co-exec chef at Hibiscus until he departed in the spring, reportedly to pursue his own restaurant venture. Ferraro assumes the role previously held by Bradford Hodgkins, though that doesn't mean Hodgkins is flying the FT33 coop: Per a PR rep for the restaurant, Hodgkins is "very much still part of the team." FT33 has also made some additions to its bar staff: NYC bartending veteran Tristan Price and Robert McLemore, formerly of San Antonio bar The Brooklynite, recently joined Scott Augat behind the bar. Look for new barrel-aged cocktails to debut in October.

Besides earning a rare five-star review from the Dallas Morning News last year and no shortage of accolades from national pubs like Bon Appetit and Food & Wine, FT33 continues to grab headlines for unusual collaborations like a guest chef dinner with NYC chef Alex Stupak and drum 'n bass DJ Dieselboy and, more recently, an electricity-free dinner with chef Brandon Baltzley of TMIP in Indiana. McCallister is also reportedly working on a new restaurant concept that he already has a space for.
