Celebrated Dallas sprinkle-slingers Hypnotic Donuts opened the doors of a new Denton location yesterday morning, and donut-starved Dentonites are already lining up out the door. The shop, which shares a space with fellow Dallas natives Cultivar Coffee, offers the same handmade donuts its White Rock-area shop has become known for: Toppings range from normal to weird including s'mores, bacon slices and crushed pretzels, along with the traditional glazed, frosted and powdered classics you know and love.
Alongside the sweets, the shop puts together a selection of fried chicken biscuits the size of your face, if you're looking for something that's glazed with cream gravy instead. Oddly enough, the menu also has two kinds of poutine — the celebrated Canadian post-drinking delicacy we're pretty sure you can't find anywhere else in Denton.
Of course, with Cultivar Coffee's gourmet brews a few feet down the counter, you're also looking at a pretty solid espresso buzz alongside the pastry coma. If it's too late for coffee (but not too late for donuts, since that isn't a thing that happens), the shop also sells beer and wine. We recommend you eat strategically.
