It may not look like much yet, but this building at the corner of Commerce and Pryor in Deep Ellum will soon be home to Luscher's. The long-awaited casual concept from The Grape chef/owner Brian Luscher, as reported by CultureMap's Teresa Gubbins yesterday. The restaurant was originally slated to go in a former convenience store across the street from Elbow Room, but that plan was scrapped thanks to the city's stringent parking requirements. Per CultureMap, the restaurant — located just a stone's throw from Twisted Root, Uncle Uber's, Cane Rosso, Tanoshii Ramen and Angry Dog — could be open by November.

Luscher tells Eater the menu will focus on Luscher's Post Oak Red Hots, the chef's handmade hot dogs that can currently be found most weekends at White Rock Local Market as well as for retail sale at places like Green Grocer, plus other sausages and Italian beef sandwiches. Stay tuned for more info on the menu next week. In the meantime, maybe Luscher will even breathe some new life into Deep Ellum's loneliest palm tree?
