The dining options in northern 'burb McKinney's historic downtown square just keep getting better. Patina Green Home and Market has developed an impressive following over the past five years as a quaint little shopping destination complete with antique furniture, organic local produce, and a killer lunch service focused on what's seasonal and local, and soon owners Robert and Kaci Lyford will dinner three nights a week (Thursday, Friday and Saturday).
Look for dinner service to begin in April, and expect much more than the simple sandwiches that Patina Green has become known for (Food Network Magazine went so far as to single out their local ham and cheese as the best sandwich in the state). Per a press release, "the dinner menu will change weekly based on seasonal ingredients, but will not be limited to sandwiches. With a street food approach, items will be served á la carte in sustainable packaging where guests can take meals to go, or can sit and enjoy dinner in our casual dining space." They're also working on a beer and wine license, so expect local/sustainable beverages to pair with dinner.
