Finally, the identity of the mysterious taqueria at Sylvan Thirty has been revealed: It'll be the very first Dallas location of Austin favorite Tacodeli and is slated to open in mid-2015.
Tacodeli has five locations in Austin and is frequently lauded for having some of the area's best breakfast tacos. It's also appears on Eater Austin's 38 essential restaurants, where editor Meghan McCarron notes that "high quality ingredients and innovative combinations make for some of the best new-school tacos in town."
The Tacodeli menu includes more than 40 taco varieties, including a picadillo taco made with fancy Akaushi beef, a fish taco with garlic mojo sauce and guac, and a green chile chicken taco with crema and green onions, plus some more traditional options like al pastor with cilantro and onions. As you might expect from an Austin-based concept, there's also plenty of vegetarian options with ingredients like roasted sweet potato, sauteed spinach, and refried black beans. Per a press release, Tacodeli Dallas will source organic eggs from Vital Farms and "will source as many local ingredients as possible, including produce and meats."
