Checkered Past Winery Lands in The Cedars This Fall

The bar will serve local and international wines.

Oenophiles will soon have a new spot to grab a glass. Checkered Past Winery is joining The Cedars' lineup this fall, according to Culture Map Dallas. The concept, first teased way back in 2014, will fill the old Absinthe Lounge space on Lamar Street with a relaxed "wine pub" featuring local and international vintages by the glass or bottle. Checkered Past doesn't have a kitchen, but plans to offer a selection of bar bites and small plates. The final menu is expected to be released next week.

Wine bars are trending throughout DFW. Last summer, Winslow's Wine Café expanded its reached to Oak Lawn, opening Winslow's Cedar Springs. Bar Anatomie then relocated to Oak Cliff in July, followed by Bouchon 1314 in September. Stay tuned for more details.
