— Addison's bastion of soul food and live jazz Button's is closing. Per D's Nancy Nichols, chalk this closure up to rising rents. The Fort Worth location remains open.
— Also a victim of further development: Popular Uptown lunch spot Cafe Express on McKinney Avenue is closing on Friday to make way for a new high-rise. Fret not, as it will reopen in 2017 — and in the meantime, there's still four other DFW locations (including Mockingbird Station and Lovers Lane).
— A popsicle shop is moving in next to JOY Macarons in Oak Cliff. Encanto Pops's Facebook page says it's planning an early 2016 opening; no further details for now, but do check out that adorable branding.
— Upper Greenville wing and beer spot (and perennial SMU favorite) Pluckers has closed for a revamp. Expect it to reopen in December with twice as much square footage plus a new patio.
