Shellfish lovers in Dallas know all too well that our landlocked city is lacking in proper oyster bars — places where patrons can sit down, enjoy a beverage, and watch the tasty bivalves being shucked to order before slurping them down. Fortunately, when Lovers Lane staple Rex's Seafood opens its third location at the Dallas Farmers Market later this fall, it will include exactly that.
Says Rex's via Facebook:
Calling ALL oyster lovers!! We are excited to share that we will have an Oyster Bar with seated dining so you can enjoy...

Heaven, indeed. Rex's recently told the Dallas Observer that he anticipates the farmers market outpost to be open by the end of November. Scott Reitz writes that it will be "a faster, more casual interpretation of the location on Lovers Lane" — though it sounds like lingering will be welcome at the oyster bar. Also opening soon at the DFM: Taqueria La Ventana, a kolache spot, a Nammi/Coolhaus combo, and more.
In the meantime, Rex's Seafood opened its second location yesterday at Mockingbird and Abrams in Lakewood.
