Downtown denizens have a new option for dining at the swanky Joule hotel, already home to CBD Provisions and Weekend Coffee: Americano, now serving up contemporay Italian food from chef Matt Ford.

Americano takes over the old Charlie Palmer space, but it's a considerably more casual affair, complete with an open-air sidewalk patio and a wall-mounted neon sign reminding you that "It's all in your head." (Hey, thanks.)

As far as the food goes, think housemade pastas — hello, kale and mushroom lasagna — house-cured charcuterie, whole roasted branzino, and guanciale pizza. Drinks are decidedly Italian in nature, and refreshingly simple in this era of ten-ingredient cocktails: Negronis on tap, or perhaps the refreshing-sounding Death in Venice (Campari, grapefruit bitters, prosecco).
