Deep Ellum, already home to Which Wich and Subway, is about to gain another sandwich chainPlanet Sub opens this Saturday on Commerce Street, the first Dallas location for the Kansas-born chain.

The shop touts fresh-baked bread that's actually made from scratch in-store — as opposed to say, Subway, which just proofs and bakes frozen pucks of dough. The menu includes sandwiches such as "The Experience" (chicken, bacon, pepperoni, pepper jack, cream cheese, jalapenos, and chipotle sauce); there's also gluten-free, low-carb, vegetarian, and vegan options, plus the all-important craft beer.

The hungry and hopeful can sign up to win free sandwiches for a year here. Planet Sub will be open 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
