A.M. Intel: Lakewood Is Getting a Barbecue Restaurant; Gino's East Coming to Dallas

And perhaps most excitingly, the Dallas Farmers Market finally has a reopening date.

– 2015 might just be the year of the Dallas barbecue explosion, evidenced by the arrivals of 18th & Vine, the Plano locations of Lockhart Smokehouse and Smoke, and plenty of others. Now, Lakewood will be getting their very own barbecue concept in Lakewood Smokehouse, the brainchild of Frisco’s 3 Stacks Barbecue’s Jason Hall. Lakewood Smokehouse will occupy the former home of the dearly departed Ali Baba Mediterranean Grill on Abrams Road.

– After a long wait, the much-anticipated Chicago deep dish pizza legend Gino's East finally has an opening date. According to CultureMap, Gino's East will open its seventh Texas location in Dallas at 10310 Lombardy Lane in a building formerly occupied by a Bikini's. You'll be able to get your hands on a slice of that coveted deep dish pie starting on November 19.

– A visit to the Dallas Farmers Market this weekend revealed a juicy tip: The Market, the indoor shed that once housed Pecan Lodge and other popular food vendors, will re-open at the Dallas Farmers Market on December 11. No word yet on whether or not Mudhen, the Shannon Wynne "meats & greens" concept planned for the space, will open at the same time. A quick peek into the window of The Market, formerly known as Shed 2, indicates that there is still plenty of construction to be done between now and the opening in a few weeks.
