Yesterday, we learned that the Dallas Farmers Market would soon (and finally) be completing at least one phase of their ongoing revitalization of the property. On December 11, The Market, the indoor shed that previously housed restaurants and food vendors alike, will re-open to the public. Today, we’ve got more details on exactly what the opening of the new and improved Dallas Farmers Market is going to look like.

According to Elizabeth Eorgan, senior real estate manager for CBRE UCR, which handles leasing of the retail space, The Market is in the final stages of the construction process. "We’re now in the finish out stages of the new enclosed space at the Dallas Farmers Market," said Eorgan. "Once complete, the renovated space will feature more than two dozen storefronts featuring a mix of veteran Dallas restaurateurs, new dining concepts, food artisans and local merchants."

Among those merchants getting a permanent home at The Market are outposts of Rex’s Seafood (complete with oyster bar!), a third location of Taqueria La Ventana, and a brick-and-mortar space for Korean food truck and coffee shop Nammi/Coolhaus. Some that can currently be found outdoors in The Shed, like Chelle’s Macarons, will also move inside. When The Market opens on December 11, though, not all vendors will be up and running just yet. "We’re gearing up for a soft opening prior to the holidays and expect our vendors to open on a rolling schedule as their spaces are completed through January," Eorgan said via email.

Some, though, may open more quickly. A Facebook post from Rex’s Seafood on November 6 speculates that the restaurant's Farmers Market location will quietly open its doors on Friday, November 27. A spokesperson for Mudhen, the much-anticipated Shannon Wynne concept planned for The Market, could not yet confirm when the restaurant would be ready to open.

You may have to navigate through some construction during the transition -- and if you’ve been going to the Dallas Farmers Market regularly, you’re already used to that -- but you could be getting a peek at The Market's newest vendors in just over a week.
