Opening Alert: Biergarten Cozies Up to the Omni Hotel Downtown

A fresh option for convention-goers.

The aptly named Biergarten is now open in downtown Dallas, the first of several new restaurants to open adjacent to skyline fixture the Omni Dallas Hotel.

A self-described "modern take on the classic German-style beer garden," you won't find any lederhosen or wood paneling here: The interior is clean, white, and airy, with lofty ceilings and an industrial vibe, plus a patio with picnic-style tables. The menu includes most of what you'd expect (giant steins of German beer and various sausages) and a few more items you might not: Per GuideLive, there's also housemade pastrami and "a Philly cheesesteak on a baked pretzel." Dallas Business Journal says there's a few local craft beer on tap, too, plus chicken schnitzel and German-style potato salad.

Biergarten is the brainchild of Coal Vines creator Joseph Palladino; a new branch of the pizzeria is slated to open right next door very soon. Also in the works: Sushi bar Little Katana and Tex-Mex staple Herrera's, all of which are much needed to feed the hungry convention-goers and other travelers that the Omni attracts.

Biergarten's business hours as posted on the front door are Monday through Wednesday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
