The Star Wars frenzy is just starting to whip up, and we’ll soon start seeing Stormtroopers and Wookies roaming this part of the galaxy we call Dallas. With the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens just days away, devoted fans are planning their costumes, buying tickets to midnight premieres of the movie, and counting down the days until director J.J. Abrams makes all their dreams come true (or, you know, ruins the franchise forever).
After all that action, though, even Han Solo could probably use a drink. If you’re planning to head to NorthPark’s AMC theatre to geek out, The Theodore’s got your before and after plans covered. On Thursday, December 17, NorthPark Center’s newest bar will host a Star Wars cantina party, and you’re going to want to wear your Yoda ears to the festivities.
All patrons dressed in Star Wars costumes (ahem, uniforms) will receive 10% off their bill, and can enter into the cantina party costume contest, where one dedicated cosplayer will be crowned the most authentic Princess Leia or Chewbacca and showered with (probably) Star Wars-themed prizes.
Perhaps most importantly, The Theodore barman Kyle Hilla will be mixing up Star Wars themed cocktails that are seriously out of this world. The Death Star, mixed with Alberta rye, dry vermouth, maraschino, mulled spice, apple, and vanilla beans, will be served in a porthole that vaguely resembles its intergalactic namesake. Hilla will also be mixing up the Tattoine Dream with vodka, blue curacao, tiki bitters, tarragon and tonic.
If that isn't exciting enough, Hilla is continuing the theme with Star Wars-themed ice molds. Perhaps your Bantha Blaster, mixed with Basil Hayden bourbon, snap, Peychaud's bitters, and Absinthe, will also be served with an icy rendering of Han Solo frozen in carbonite.
The party kicks off at 6 p.m. on Thursday, and continues until 10 p.m.
