DOWNTOWN – Come next year, Downtown’s lunch options will be a little more diverse. Yesterday, CutureMap reported that beloved Design District breakfast and lunch spot Purple Onion will be rebooted in Downtown at Field and Akard. The new restaurant will continue to serve up the comfort food fare that made it a local fave for the last 14 years, but will also add a large salad bar with plenty of fresh options for lunchers who want to keep it light. [CultureMap]

PLANO – If you've got a hankering for chocolate, head to Plano. Kate Weiser Chocolate, Trinity Groves' upstart chocolate and macaron shop, opened its doors yesterday at The Shops At Legacy. Weiser told GuideLive that the Plano store is "kind of like a tryout," but a photo posted to the chocolatier's Facebook page indicates that outdoor signage has already been installed, so perhaps they plan to stick around for good if all goes well during this trial period. [GuideLive]

UPTOWN – Chocolate and wine are a pretty natural pairing, and the addition of Kent Rathbun into the mix only makes things better. Tonight, Rathbun will host a swanky Valhrona chocolate-infused dinner, each course paired perfectly with a Vineyard Brands wine. Highlights of the six-course menu include truffled white chocolate butternut squash risotto and seared duck breast with milk chocolate-foie gras gastrique. You can make your reservation — assuming you’re ready to plunk down $175 per person — by emailing stephaniec@kentrathbun.com. [EaterWire]

NORTH DALLAS – Lower Greenville’s Society Bakery will add a third location in North Dallas’ Preston Royal Shopping Center. The new location is projected to open in March 2016 in the space formerly occupied by cakeball queen Tori Rivard. In addition to the sweets on offer, Society Bakery will add a short menu of savory lunch options, including pimiento cheese sliders and spinach & cheese quiche. [EaterWire]
