UPDATE: Luscher's has now pushed its opening date back to Monday, March 2.
The Grape chef-owner and Luscher's Red Hots empresario Brian Luscher is taunting his Instagram followers. In recent days the chef has posted multiple photos of menu testing from his upcoming eponymous sausage spot Luscher's, and it's almost enough to make you want to camp out in front of the highly anticipated Commerce Street restaurant until it opens.
As previously reported, the Luscher's menu will be focused on handmade Chicago-style hot dogs as well as Italian beef sandwiches, but it looks like there's going to be some pretty insane burgers, too:
Clearly Luscher's not skimping out on the sides, either. Check out these onion rings and fries; the shamrock-green substance in the cup is a lime soda called Green River that's been made in Chicago since 1919:
Luscher's will even have its own special blend of celery salt, which is an essential ingredient for the traditional fully-loaded Chicago-style hot dog:
The projected opening date is next Monday, February 23 at 11 a.m. if all goes to plan.
