Oak Lawn's self-explanatory Scotch & Sausage is adding another alliterative pairing: tacos and tequila. The restaurant and bar's current location will be split into the two separate-but-joined themed concepts, each with its own bar and own patio.
The so-called S&S Tequileria concept is still in development, but per a rep for Scotch & Sausage, folks can expect "amazing tacos with an emphasis on high-quality meats which are slow-braised overnight guisada style," as well as handmade tamales and other "Mexican inspired street food with a Texas twist." The bar will showcase "one of the best agave programs in Texas focusing on small-batch productions while still keeping the price accessible to the masses" and will feature riffs on the classic margarita and other tequila and mezcal-based cocktails.
Tequila fans can stop by soon to grab a drink inside the dimly lit Tequileria and admire the sugar skull-print wallpaper; the space will soft-open this Friday with drinks only. (They're also currently hiring for the new concept.)
