Soon.

Progress at The Grape chef-owner Brian Luscher's new Deep Ellum hot dog spot Luscher's is coming right along. Work is still ongoing inside the space on Commerce Street, but a sweet new sign has been put in place to alert the neighborhood to its existence. Luscher's has set a tentative grand opening date of February 16 at 11 a.m., though that date and time is subject to change.

The restaurant will showcase Luscher's Red Hots, the line of handmade hot dogs that Chef Luscher launched in 2012. Patrons can expect Chicago-style dogs like the ones regularly sold at White Rock Local Market, as well as other types of sausages and Wagyu Italian beef sandwiches with housemade giardiniera and local bread, plus plenty of local craft beer and perhaps some locally made ice cream as well. As the Luscher's website explains, "We use all-natural, local meats, breads & produce when we can. We make damn near everything from scratch or get it from someone who does."

Going in right next door to Luscher's is Washington, D.C. export Amsterdam Falafelshop, slated to open this summer. Meanwhile just one street over on Main, Matt McCallister is preparing to open his second, more casual restaurant concept called Filament.
