Development has begun on a new "New American cuisine" restaurant near pro sports mecca American Airlines Center from big-time developer Harwood International. Harwood is also the force behind Saint Ann and Mercat Bistro, as well as countless high-end office towers and the new luxury condo high-rise Bleu Ciel.
Per the Dallas Business Journal:
The ground floor of the restaurant will be a casual concept for fans walking to the AAC for either a Dallas Mavericks game or Dallas Stars game. The second floor is expected to be an upscale bar. The restaurant, which has yet to be named, will also include an adjacent park for pedestrians and restaurant patrons. Construction is slated to be complete by this summer before the 2015-16 seasons for the Mavs and Stars.
While Victory Park has a couple decent options for pre- or post-game eats like upscale Moroccan spot Medina and Olivella's sibling Neo for pizza, the area surrounding the arena could certainly use a fresh influx of new casual dining options that aren't sports bars or schlocky chains.
