Calling all Monkey King Noodle Co. fans: The crazy-popular Deep Ellum noodle stand is co-hosting a pop-up at Zoli's NY Pizza on Monday night.
For this event, Monkey King is teaming up with a group of pan-Asian cuisine gurus, including chefs Roger Wang and Wai Chhen, that call themselves Street Fooder; the two met while doing catering for the Asian Film Festival. Here's what Street Fooder will be serving, per the Facebook event page:
- AFC (Asian fried chicken): crispy drumsticks with Asian slaw and honey smoked gochujang sauce
- The "Seoul" Sub: Korean shaved beef with hot mustard aioli, caramelized kimchi, and cucumbers on Leidenheimer bread shipped in from New Orleans
- Quacking Swine Fried Rice: duck fat-infused forbidden rice, house-cured fatty pork, egg, and vegetables (vegetarian option available)
Monkey King co-owner Michelle Midyette says they'll be offering scallion pancakes with dipping sauce, an Asian shredded beef pizza, and a to-be-determined noodle dish.
The pop-up kicks off Monday at 6 p.m. at Zoli's in Oak Cliff; it goes till 9 p.m. or whenever they run out of food.
