Peek Inside El Bolero, Debuting Soon in the Design District

Brought to you by the people behind Oak and Pakpao.

El Bolero

Here's an inside look at progress inside soon-to-open El Bolero. It's the third Design District restaurant from Oak and Pakpao owner Apheleia Restaurant Group, and once again they're teaming up with local design mavens Coeval Studio.

"Our team, including our chef, Hugo Galvan, who is from San Miguel, has traveled extensively through the different regions of Mexico and we've spent years doing on the ground research in bringing to bear our vision of this concept," says co-owner Richard Ellman. Ellman's own enthusiasm for art history is reflected in some of the design elements, including two nifty-looking custom mosaic walls depicting famous Mexican artists including Frida Kahlo.

El Bolero promises "regional and authentic" flavors of Mexico with some creative twists, and is slated to open sometime this spring at 1201 Oak Lawn Avenue, just down the street from Oak and Pakpao.
