The transformation is complete: Design District dining destination Oak is now under John Tesar's culinary control.
Per a press release, Tesar has appointed Alex Henderson as chef de cuisine, while his pastry chef from Knife, David Collier — who also worked under Tesar at Spoon and The Mansion on Turtle Creek — is on dessert duties. (Henderson previously worked at both Oak and the now-defunct Belly and Trumpet.)
Tesar's new lunch menu is currently being served, and he's also working on a revamp of the dinner menu to be unveiled in a couple weeks. Fans of Tesar's cooking may recognize a couple familiar-looking dishes on the menu: a burger is made with 44 Farms beef atop an English muffin, similar to one served at Knife, and a lobster "knuckle sandwich" is reminiscent of a previous menu item at Spoon.
