Fort Worth burger favorite Rodeo Goat recently expanded to Dallas, bringing its lineup of house-ground burgers and strange-yet-delicious toppings to the Design District. The regular menu offers burgers topped with everything from grilled peaches and arugula to blackberry compote and Irish whiskey cheddar, and now the new location has launched its popular Burger Battle, which pits two new creations against one in a quest for burger domination.
The inaugural burger battle for the Dallas location is Mavericks-themed, naturally, pitting "The Cuban" (a burger patty topped with grilled ham, pork butt, sweet mustard, and pickles — a clever Cuban double entendre) against "The Dirk," a number 41-inspired concoction that involves a bratwurst patty topped with apple and onion sauerkraut and burnt honey mustard on a pretzel bun. One order equals one vote, and the winner will go on to face future burger challengers — maybe, just maybe eventually earning a spot on Rodeo Goat's permanent menu, right alongside the burger named for Mayor Mike Rawlings.
