Exposition Park beer and jazz staple Amsterdam Bar is gone, but a new watering hole will soon rise in its place. Word surfaced earlier today via CultureMap Dallas that the folks behind popular Oak Cliff pub Ten Bells Tavern are planning a new bar.

Direct from the Eight Bells Alehouse website:

Meri Dahlke and Michael Hickey of Ten Bells Tavern are bringing a new concept to Dallas in the space formerly occupied by the Amsterdam Bar. Eight Bells Alehouse will be continuing on with the award winning tradition of Ten Bells by providing an inviting, casual atmosphere designed to appeal to those seeking a simple cold beer or house made cocktails. Eight Bells will also be providing an interesting selection of European inspired comestibles.

Eight Bells is just one of two new bars headed to Expo Park: According to SideDish, the former Meridian Room space is being taken over by Expo Bar and Grill, "courtesy of the former owners of the Lakewood Theater and Arcade Bar." Expect "a comfortable and approachable neighborhood saloon featuring local craft beers" and "a small menu of well-crafted comfort food."
