Here's something else to anticipate ahead of the relaunch of the Dallas Farmers Market's revamped Shed No. 2 (now referred to as The Market): vegan fast food. CultureMap's Teresa Gubbins reports that Soulgood will serve "burgers, hot dogs, street tacos, pancakes, oatmeal and cupcakes" that owner Cynthia Nevels says are not only free of animal products but also GMOs and pesticides. Look for Soulgood to debut May 2, says CultureMap.
Vegan fast food is just the latest addition to what's shaping up to be a mighty impressive lineup for The Market: Concepts already signed on include Rex's Seafood, a combination Nammi/Coolhaus, a kolache and coffee spot, Taqueria La Ventana, and more. The main outdoor building at the Farmers Market, The Shed, is also on the brink of some major changes that will place more of a focus on local farmers rather than the produce dealers that typically set up shop there.
