What to Eat at Globe Life Park, Home of the Texas Rangers

What ridiculous stadium food awaits you this season?

Opening day at Globe Life Park is just a week away, and perhaps more important than whether or not the Rangers will beat the Astros is the eternal question: What will I eat? The stadium in Arlington is famous for its ridiculous gut-busting creations like The Choomongous (a two-foot beef teriyaki sandwich, because sure why not) and The Boomstick, a 24-inch hot dog smothered in chili and cheese — but this year, the concessions team has outdone themselves with new items that are heavy on the bacon and the deep-fried.

NEW THIS SEASON

Brand new to Globe Life Park this year is the much-talked-about Just Bacon stand (section 16, lower level), where you'll find maple-bacon beer from Oregon's Rogue Ales, bacon salt-coated sunflower seeds, bacon cotton candy (don't get too excited, it's pre-packaged), bacon quesadillas, and more. The other major new addition is State Fare (section 41, lower level), which specializes in fair-inspired creations such as deep-fried bacon on a stick, chicken-fried corn on the cob, fried brisket mac and cheese balls, funnel cake fries, and the pièce de résistance: Fried S'mOreos, which are graham-cracker crusted fried marshmallows and deep-fried Oreos on a stick topped off with Cool Whip and chocolate sauce. Lord help us.
