ADDISON—The area's hordes of office workers have a quick new lunch option: Aptly named Fast Furious Japanese Grill is an Irving-born quick-service concept serving up budget-friendly gyoza, edamame, sushi and sashimi, and hibachi-style noodle or rice bowls. Status: Certified open. 3761 Belt Line Rd, Addison, (972) 243-3334, fastfuriousrestaurant.com.

PLANO—Frat boy favorite Torchy's Tacos is now up and running at the Dallas North Tollway near W. Park Boulevard, and judging by the insanely long lines, Planoites are psyched. Taco fillings like fried avocado and queso-smothered fried chicken await, along with chips and guac and deep-fried chocolate chip cookies. Status: Certified open. 1855 Dallas Pkwy #600, Plano, (972) 735-0310, torchystacos.com.

RICHARDSON—Yet another fast-casual pizza concept has burst onto the scene: SPIN! Neapolitan Pizza (exclamation point necessary, apparently) is now open on Campbell Road. In addition to pies cooked in a stone oven, the menu also includes white bean hummus, eggplant parm, sandwiches, and gelato. Stay tuned for more area locations, including one on SMU Boulevard. Status: Certified open. 348 W. Campbell Rd., Richardson, (972) 235-7746, spinpizza.com.

PLANO—Carrollton's cult-favorite Malaysian restaurant Secret Recipe has expanded with a second location. Planoites can now sample Hainanese roasted chicken rice, laksa, rendang beef, chili crab, and more; there's also Thai, Japanese, and Chinese fare from pad thai to udon noodles and kung pao chicken (but seriously, get the aforementioned chicken rice). Status: Certified open. 2304 Coit Rd., Plano, (972) 519-0001, plano.secretrecipetx.com.
