24-Hour Breakfast Pusher Waffle House is Coming to East Dallas

It could open as soon as this Fall.

Soon, East Dallas. Soon.

Dallas's late-night dining scene may never be the same: Waffle House is preparing to descend on East Dallas. The beloved Atlanta-based 24-hour diner has secured a certificate of occupancy to build at 5185 Ross Avenue (between the Burger King and the intersection with Henderson Avenue).

A representative for Waffle House didn't have much in the way of details to share just yet, but did say that the 2,000-location strong chain is "potentially looking at a fall opening."

There are several Waffle Houses in the DFW area, including Garland, Irving, and Mesquite, though none anywhere close to the downtown area — the only one located in Dallas proper is on W. Northwest Highway near Strip Club Row. Prepare to get scattered, smothered, covered, and peppered, East Dallas (that's crispy hash browns with cheese, sauteed onions, and jalapeños, for the uninitiated).
