Dinner and a Movie at Knife; Braindead Beer Dinner

MOCKINGBIRD—Knife is launching a new monthly film series featuring movies on the patio. It launches this Sunday from 8 to 11 p.m. with Jon Favreau's Chef; $35 per person gets you mini Cuban and grilled cheese sandwiches, popcorn, and two Four Corners brews. Future screenings will include Big Night (June 28), Jiro Dreams of Sushi (September 20), Julie and Julia (October 25), and Sideways (November 15). $10 of the ticket price benefits the Dallas Film Society. DEEP ELLUM—Braindead Brewing will host a five-course beer dinner showcasing six different North Texas brews on Tuesday, May 26. The beers served will include one regular Braindead brew as well as a special one created just for the beer dinner, plus offerings from Peticolas, Martin House, Community, and Lakewood. OAK CLIFF—The fifth annual Margarita Meltdown goes down Sunday, May 24 (Memorial Day weekend) from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Bishop Arts District. Participating restaurants will include C'Viche, El Ranchito, The Local Oak, Tillman's Roadhouse, Vagabond, Boulevardier, Mesa, Parliament, and many more; ticketholders will be able to sample each margarita and vote for their favorite via text message.
