DFW certainly isn't suffering from a lack of food festivals, but here's another one to add to the docket: Downtown oasis Klyde Warren Park will host its first annual food and wine event, Park & Palate, this fall. The two-day event goes down September 25 and 26 (that's a Friday and Saturday); a press release promises it will "[showcase] regionally renowned chefs and wineries from around the world" and "feature celebrity chefs, a Dallas-style grand tasting, cooking demos, live music, and a unique VIP experience."
It sounds an awful lot like Addison's Fork & Cork, the Taste Addison replacement that just held its second year earlier this month — but Park & Palate has the advantage of a heavily trafficked park already popular with the locals (the possibility of some pleasant pre-autumn weather doesn't hurt, either). Spearheading the Park & Palate event is KWP's new VP of events and programs, Erika White, who's helped produce some big-name festivals such as the Austin Food and Wine Festival and even Lollapalooza. Additionally, all the festival's proceeds will go right back to the park to help fund year-round events.
Stay tuned to find out which chefs P&P will snag for its inaugural lineup.
