The rent has nearly quadrupled since it opened seven years ago.

Gentrification strikes again: Bishop Arts ice cream parlor La Original Michoacana is packing its bags after seven years, reports Oak Cliff Advocate. The Hispanic-owned shop cites "skyrocketing rent" as the reason for its move, exiting to Arlington as hipster-magnet scoop shops like Carnival Barker's — and soon, a weekend-only outpost of Fort Worth's Melt Ice Creams inside Urban Acres — move into Oak Cliff.

The shop's last day will be July 31, says Advocate. Stop by before then for a taste of unusual ice cream and paleta flavors like chile mango, pistachio, pine nut, passionfruit, and avocado.
