Changes are in store for local sweets emporium Celebrity Cafe & Bakery: The mini-chain's new owners, Brittany and Brian Livingston, are moving Celebrity's original location, which has stood at Highland Park Village for nearly three decades. A new outpost will open at the Shops at Highland Park on Oak Lawn — home to Carbone's and TJ's Seafood Market — this November, just in time for the hectic holiday baking season.

Per a press release, the Livingstons intend to "have between seven and ten locations in three years, with prospective sites in Plano and Uptown for expansion in 2016." (Celebrity currently has four locations including Highland Park, Preston and Royal, Frisco, and Colleyville.)

Celebrity Bakery, as it's commonly referred to, is known for elaborately decorated custom cakes and sugar cookies, plus breakfast pastries, pies, and lunch items like pimento cheese and chicken salad. Founder Barbara Harris sold the company back in 2007; the Livingstons took over last year, sprucing up all the stores including the HPV location, which had grown somewhat dingy over the years. The HPV outpost will remain in business through early 2016, but will switch to serving "signature bakery items" only at the end of this year.
