Lakewood coffee shop Legal Grounds is no more, and The Heights will soon rise in its place. Nancy Nichols reports that Karin Porter — former executive chef at Brian and Courtney Luscher's Lower Greenville fixture The Grape —  will launch her new venture sometime next week; it's already got a fancy new neon sign announcing its new name.

Porter tells SideDish the menu will be rooted in her "Southern comfort food sensibility,” and will also include some bistro fare like steamed mussels and steak frites, plus breakfast fare (including Legal Grounds' famed oatmeal pancakes).

Since departing The Grape five or six years ago, Porter has been running a catering business, Porter House Provisions, and has also served as consulting chef for Daddy Jack's. Keep tabs on progress at The Heights by scoping out the restaurant's Facebook page.
