Skyline Icon the Omni Hotel Gains a Biergarten and a Pizzeria in August

More dining options for convention-goers.

Mesmerizing skyline fixture the Omni Dallas Hotel will soon have plenty more drinking and dining options for convention-goers: Construction on the latest addition to the Coal Vines pizzeria/wine bar empire and the new Biergarten on Lamar concept has just begun, with both establishments slated to open August 10 just beyond the hotel's front entrance.

This will make Coal Vines number four for DFW. A press release describes the Biergarten concept as "a modern take on the classic German-style beer garden." The interior will be decked out with white brick and light woods, with an ivy-covered outdoor patio. Also coming soon to the development: sushi bar Little Katana and Tex-Mex stalwart Herrera's.

Both concepts are the brainchild of restaurateur Joseph Palladino; he's headed to Germany next month to research beers and food for the Biergarten, which doesn't sound like a half-bad business trip.
