— Much ado was made about Fort Worth's Revolver Taco Lounge leaving West 7th for Deep Ellum, but now that's a no-go — for the time being, anyway. The new landlord is letting Gino Rojas and his crew stay in their current location through at least the end of 2015.
— Everyone needs a little vacation now and again, even (and especially?) chefs. Restaurant siblings Ten Ramen and Tei-An are both currently on hiatus through July 7; meanwhile, Bishop Arts jewel Lucia will shutter July 4 through July 14, and Fort Worth's Black Forest cake and burger slinger Swiss Pastry Shop will be closed July 5 through July 13.
— The Design District's Ascension Coffee is expanding with another location at Crescent Court, which is certainly good news for folks who office there (and frequent Stanley Korshak shoppers, for that matter).
—Pastry chef Sarah Green (formerly of Oak and currently hanging her hat at Cafe Momentum) is now consulting on desserts at Hibiscus, meaning the sweets finally measure up to the rest of chef Graham Dodds' menu. The menu will rotate with the seasons, but right now it includes an unusual green tomato cobbler that Dodds says is now their best-selling sweet. Scope out the rest of the menu below.
