How many fast-casual burger chains can the city of Dallas actually sustain? The owners of Knox-Henderson's brand-new BGR: The Burger Joint are hoping there's room for at least one more. The first Texas location of BGR — which has stores in New York, D.C., and Kuwait, to name a few locations — opened today at 3001 Knox Street, in the same strip as Fadi's and Trailercakes.
BGR has the distinction of serving exclusively "prime, dry-aged burgers grilled over an OPEN FLAME!" (emphasis theirs). The toppings list isn't exactly ground-breaking, with the usual options like grilled jalapenos, applewood bacon, and avocado, plus — oddly enough — grilled pineapple. The fanciest burger on the menu is the Wellington, which comes adorned with caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, black truffle, and blue cheese. Burger buns are being sourced from Main Street Bistro & Bakery in Plano, and there's a full beer lineup courtesy of Lakewood Brewing; most of the burger prices seem to hover around $10.
How will BGR stack up against DFW's plethora of other fast-casual burger joints? Curious burger lovers can check it out from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
