OAK CLIFF—Former Lowest Greenville tenant Bohemian Cafe is slated to open at the Dallas Farmers Market this fall, but in the meantime the kolache slinger is setting up shop at Lucky Dog Books. The cafe soft-opens next Monday and will hawk sweet and savory kolaches, coffee, sodas from Dublin Bottling Works, and more.
BEER WIRE—'Tis the season for fruity and refreshing limited edition beers. Small Brewpub's pouring a watermelon wheat, Martin House has a grapefruit session IPA called Juice (find it now at CiboDivino and Little Red Wasp), and Noble Rey will soon debut a tasty-sounding mango summer ale.
OAK CLIFF—Monkey King Noodle Co. and the dudes of Street Fooder are uniting once more for a pop-up at Zoli's. It goes down next Monday night from 6 to 9 p.m. [UPDATE: The pop-up has been rescheduled for the following Monday, August 17.] Best plan to arrive early if you're hungry: Last time it was crazy-packed and things sold out quickly. Menu items will include a Xi'an style grilled lamb pizza, pork and shrimp dumplings, a banh mi-esque sandwich with lemongrass-black garlic sausage and hot mustard aioli, and more.
DEEP ELLUM—One of Dallas's most beloved local beers is now available in doughnut form. Glazed Donut Works' monthly beer doughnut for August is the Chocolate Temptress, a chocolate old-fashioned infused with Lakewood Brewing's Temptress milk stout.
