The latest healthy fast-casual concept to invade Dallas is Unleavened Fresh Kitchen, opening next Tuesday, September 22 in Lakewood. It's the first restaurant from area residents Tom Dynan and Scott Piland, and they're catering to the neighborhood with a family-friendly menu that includes both beer and wine on tap and a kids' menu.
The focal point of the menu is wraps (hence the restaurant's name, which refers to the "unleavened" nature of the Luna's tortillas serving as wraps), all of which can also be served as salads. There's a Cuban sandwich-inspired version with guava-glazed pulled pork, ham, pickles, Swiss, and honey mustard, and a tasty-sounding fried chicken number with peppered bacon and boursin; there are also housemade dips like hummus and a "smokey garlic crema."
Unleavened will also be open for breakfast bright and early with items like quinoa porridge and acai bowls — plus the all-important mimosas. Regular business hours are Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Scope out the menu below:
