CHEF SHUFFLES—Pastry chef Laurel Wimberg, formerly of the just-shuttered AF+B, has a sweet new gig: executive pastry chef at Lark on the Park. The fall menu includes her new desserts such as a saffron tart with honey, grape, and figs; butterscotch panna cotta with chocolate mousse and kettle corn; and semolina cake with mascarpone cream and spiced pear sorbet. Expect to see her influence showing up on the menus at fellow Shannon Wynne restaurants Meddlesome Moth and Bird Cafe, too. [EaterWire]
THE CEDARS—Coffee roasting studio Full City Rooster is hosting an "itty bitty bake sale" this Saturday at 10 a.m. with baked goods by Dude, Sweet's Katherine Clapner. Chocolate and caffeine sounds like a pretty good way to jumpstart the day. [EaterWire]
LOWER GREENVILLE—Old-school Italian restaurant Pietro's is on its way out. Teresa Gubbins says the owners, who are in their 70s, are retiring and the building is now up for lease. [CultureMap Dallas]
