Plus, a rare appearance from Chef Sharon Hage.

PIE WIRE – The only thing better than pie is free pie, which is why you should be happy that National Pie Day is a thing. In observance of this holiest of days, all three locations of Norma’s Cafe will offer a free slice of pie to all comers on Friday, January 22. One slice of chocolate, coconut, or the Elvis-inspired peanut butter and banana pie per customer, and you’ll have to dine in to take advantage of the offer. [EaterWire]

WINE WIRE – After the closure of York Street, most Dallas diners have been deprived of Chef Sharon Hage’s top-notch cuisine. For one night only, you can experience the magic of Hage’s five-time James Beard-nominated cuisine at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse for a "Pinot Around The World" wine dinner in collaboration with Chef James Johnson. Hage will prepare a five-course feast, including pancetta braised rabbit and cold-smoked sturgeon, paired with pinot noirs and a special "mystery wine." Reservations for the dinner are $225 per person, and can be made by calling the restaurant. [EaterWire]

TRINITY GROVES – Just when you thought the Asian and Mexican-inspired cuisine at Chino Chinatown couldn’t get any better, Chef Uno Immanivong has added brunch to the menu. Brunch service at Chino Chinatown officially debuted yesterday, featuring dishes like chicken lolli steam buns and waffles with jalapeno-infused maple syrup. Don’t sleep on the $2 mimosas and $5 bloody marys, either. [EaterWire]
