If you’re a fan of Food Network, you’ve probably found yourself binge-watching episodes of Cake Boss, the reality TV show where pastry chef Buddy Valastro bakes insane creations for everyone from brides to drag queens, for pretty much any occasion that requires a giant cake. Now, Valastro is bringing his creative confections to a swanky Dallas shopping center.
Announced via press release, the Hoboken, NJ-based Carlo’s Bakery will open its first Texas location in Preston Center this spring. At present, there are thirteen locations of Carlo’s Bakery across the country, including outposts in Las Vegas, Connecticut, and New York. “We’ve seen incredible growth in the past year and I’m so excited Dallas is going to part of that,” Valastro said in the release. “The city is filled with charm and warm hospitality, it really is the perfect fit for Carlo’s Bakery.”
Valastro’s world-famous cannoli and signature lobster-tail pastry will be on offer at the Dallas location, which is currently under construction in Preston Center. The nearly 2,500 square foot bakery will also, of course, bring its custom cake expertise to Dallas, which seems like a pretty smart move. There’s nothing Dallas loves more than a spectacle, and that’s especially true when it’s covered in frosting.
Carlo’s Bakery is expected to open its doors in March. Stay tuned for an official opening date.
