North Dallas is rapidly becoming a better place to eat, thanks to the arrival of concepts like Jet Tila’s Pakpao, Modern Market, and Blue Sushi Sake Grill. The growing dining district will get even bigger this spring, when a Midwestern transplant brings "elevated beer hall fare" to the neighborhood.
Announced via press release, Blatt & Beer Table comes to Dallas from Omaha, Nebraska. Its name comes from Rosenblatt Stadium, now TD Ameritrade Field and the longtime home of the College World Series. "Many of the fans who attend the College World Series each year hail from Texas, and Blatt has become a ‘must do’ while in Omaha for the event," Flagship Restaurant Group COO Anthony Hitchcock said via press release. "That said, we feel Dallas is perfect for our next Blatt location."
A "non-sports bar sports bar", whatever that means, the concept will focus on upscale gastropub cuisine, including housemade sausages and burgers. Perhaps most excitingly, though, Blatt Beer & Table brings options for vegans, vegetarians, and the gluten-free. Those who have given up meat can indulge in falafel sliders and vegan currywurst, alongside hearty bar snacks like Bavarian pretzels served with rosemary mustard and Gruyere fondue.
With "beer" in its name, Blatt Beer & Table will focus on craft and local beers, featuring 30+ beers on tap and another "40 to 50" bottled beers. A small menu of cocktails, like a Guinness-spiked Bloody Mary, will also be on offer. Wine drinkers have decidedly fewer options, as just a few will be available by the bottle or glass.
The Dallas location of Blatt Beer & Table will be the restaurant’s first Texas outpost, along with two locations in Omaha. The restaurant is currently planning to open in "spring 2016" at the upscale Preston Hollow Village development that also houses its sister concept, Blue Sushi Sake Grill.
