Heads up, suds enthusiasts: fast-growing franchise Craft Beer Cellar has officially opened its first Dallas location.

The Lakewood outpost of Craft Beer Cellar made its debut over the weekend, and it’s destined to become a haven for beer snobs. Owned by Jim Waskow and Stan Nauman, who ho went to Carrollton’s Newman Smith together years before quitting their respective corporate careers to get into the beer business. Waskow is a certified Cicerone while Nauman is currently prepping to take the exam early next year.

He and the rest of the Lakewood staff are all Certified Beer Servers, a requirement for all Beer Geeks working in any Craft Beer Cellar nationwide. This helps ensure that everyone working at a Craft Beer Cellar is truly passionate about beer. There’s no food served at the Craft Beer Cellar, because honestly, ain’t nobody got time for that. It’s all beer, all the time.

The Lakewood location offers a selection of bottles in addition to a 16-tap growler bar, or the best of both worlds when it comes to brew shopping. According to Waskow, the aim is “to be a quick, convenient option for someone wanting to grab a six pack to go, while having the ability to take the time to educate the newest of newbies.”

“We are total beer geeks, without being beer snobs,” he says. “Every effort will be made to keep our selection interesting by pursuing the rarest local and national releases, while stocking the great traditional beers from Europe and the rest of the world.” In a nutshell, if you’re into beer, have a question about beer, are looking for something specific, or just want to try out something you’ve never had before, Craft Beer Cellar is definitely worth checking out.

Craft Beer Cellar Lakewood (located at 6324 Gaston Avenue) officially opened for business on Saturday, October 15. The store’s hours are Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6:00 p.m.
