Since Gemma made its debut in 2013, it’s remained one of the city’s most popular reservations. Expect lightning to strike twice when Chef Stephen Rogers and his wife (and front-of-house extraordinare) Alison Yoder open their second Dallas restaurant.
CultureMap reports that Yoder and Rogers will open a Mediterranean concept called Sachet inside The Shops at Highland Park, near Madrina, Carbone’s and TJ’s Seafood. According to Rogers, the menu will offer much more than typical Mediterranean fare, taking influence from Spain, France, Greece, and North Africa.
For those who can’t often afford the pricey (yet worth it) California-inspired cuisine at Gemma, Sachet will offer a more casual — and affordable — way to enjoy Rogers’ cooking. The duo didn’t spill much on the wine list, but considering Yoder’s involvement, you can likely expect a solid selection of bottles that won’t break the budget.
No opening timeline has yet been announced for Sachet’s arrival. Expect it to take at least a little while, as Rogers and Yoder will have to build a brand new kitchen in the space.
