John Tesar Prepares for 'Top Chef' Return With Plenty of Shit-Talking

Now that John Tesar isn’t raising rabble in Dallas’ food scene on the daily, you might think the outspoken (to say the least) chef has lost a little of his edge. In a new promo for the upcoming season of Top Chef, on which he will be a contestant, Dallas’ most notable firebrand proves that he hasn’t changed a bit.

Last Friday, Top Chef released a super-quick profile of Tesar that pretty much tells you all you need to know. In addition to shouting out his Dallas restaurant knife and sharing an important tip for home cooks, Tesar also spills the beans on what his “signature dish” actually is, and you can’t eat it.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Tesar took the haters to task in the comments on this video. Responding from his personal Facebook page, the chef didn’t take kindly to folks judging his character — or his cuisine:

He also, for whatever reason, brought politics into the conversation?

And drops a little truth bomb for those that would call him “cocky.”

Please never change, Tesar. You can catch Dallas’ own king of modern steak take his second turn at trying to win Top Chef starting on December 1.
