Pizza fiends, it’s been a rough year. But like a small holiday miracle, Zoli’s NY Pizza Tavern is making a comeback for one-night only this week. A rep for the restaurant tells Eater Dallas that the crew from Zoli’s will be taking over the kitchens at The Standard Pour on Tuesday night and bringing with it several of the outfit’s infamous 16-pound Meatzilla pizzas.
Zoli’s pizza master Lee Hunzinger will be offering his pies by-the-slice in limited quantities alongside chicken parmesan sandwiches on fresh-baked bread. Meanwhile, Cody Sharp will be introducing new dishes from the other side of Zoli 2.0’s menu, including pastas, entrees, and starters. Diners can also look out for beverage director Kendyll Clark’s special cocktail — a Long Island Ice Tea-Moscow Mule hybrid dubbed the L.I.I.T. as a Mule.
The whole event is happening in concert with Standard Pour’s celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Moscow Mule. Meanwhile, Zoli’s team says that the new restaurant location has run into more construction delays that have pushed back the opening timeline to sometime in 2017.
